James Tung has over 25 years experience in the nuclear industry directly related to the nondestructive examination (NDE) of pressure vessels, piping systems and related components. This experience is related to both power plants under construction and operating plants. He is experienced in all NDE methods including Ultrasonics (UT), Radiography (RT), Eddy Currents (ET), Magnetic Particle (MT), and Visual (VT). He currently has ASNT Certification as a Level III in UT and RT and has been previously certified as a Level III in ET and NRT methods. Mr. Tung has served as a direct NDE technical adviser (or consultant) to electrical utilities during the construction of nuclear power plants.

He has a BS in Mathematics, an MS in Physics from the University of Oregon and has completed the course requirements for a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering at Oregon State University.

He can provide you with expert consultation with regards to inspection problems, procedures, NDE system design concepts, techniques, and equipment. He can also assist you with liaison between the field and engineering or regulatory personnel. In addition, he can assist you in establishing your own NDT facility or laboratory, if that is your goal.
